End of Line: The Nerd Out Closes
Portland’s favorite geeky hang-out, The Nerd Out, announced May 26 that they will not be reopening after just two years in business. The news was posted on their Facebook page, and is reproduced here:

It’s with a heavy heart tonight that we have to announce that The Nerd Out will not be reopening. The last 2 years have been a blast and will never be forgotten. We’ve had so many great times and made so many new friends and family. Thank you all for all the amazing nights, events, and impromptu lightsaber battles. We will cherish these memories forever. Though, the restaurant will not be reopening its doors, we’re going to keep this page going with fun memes, news, and events ( once those start happening again). Thanks again everybody. Be excellent to one another and may the force be with you.

It’s unclear from the post whether the decision to close the popular venue was impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Either way, The Nerd Out will be missed.
